Mortgages

Mortgages are usually available up to the equivalent of 50-60% of the value of the property. Please note that appraisers or property valuer's are asked by the banks to value property on the basis of 'quick sale', which usually is 5% to 10% under full market value. If you are a foreign resident you will be asked to provide banker's references or accountant's statement with regard to the last two or three financial years to prove your ability to meet the repayments. U.S. Dollar mortgages are available on the basis of the Libor interest rate plus 2% (this is negotiable).
